a Miracle of Joy At Christmas???

Yea, its true, Tis the season. I know you have heard this for years. We should have joy because of what Jesus did for us. But have you ever felt more like Scrooge than a joyful Christian? and really tried hard not to? and really not succeeded and felt bad about it? Well, me too, take courage, lift up your head, your redemption draws nigh. God is closer than you think. IF you ever have asked Him to forgive you and take over your life and be in charge, then you became born again and the Spirit of the Living God came to live inside you and you became His Child. If not, well, now you know what to do. HE forgave all the sins you will ever commit and is aching for you to ask for forgiveness, so He can come into your life and make things new.. HE is a good God and wants only to bless you, take care of you, meet your needs, and love you. You might be saying, well it doesn't look that way to me because of all the bad things that have happened to me. I know, life can hit hard sometimes we have one evil one the world that can come to steal, kill and destroy..on the other hand God is always in a good mood, and always wants to bring life and life more abundantly. ( HE says so in the bible) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and my burden is light. HE is gentle, kind and loves you. Ask the Gentle Savior to visit you this Christmas Eve, for He has a miracle in His hand and is waiting to bless you exceedingly, abundantly above all you ask or think. I pray right now that every reader reading this blog would experience His presence and His love and their needed miracles this Christmas and be blessed! HE really does love you. Ask Him!and Merry Christmas! Barb

An encouraging word if you are sick! by one of my favorite speakers....

Pray Up Your Immune System!

1 Corinthians 14:4
4He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…

Many Charismatics believe that when you speak in tongues, you edify or build up your spirit man. Well, that is only one-third true. The Bible does not say that the speaker edifies his spirit. No, it says that the speaker “edifies himself”. This means his entire self — spirit, soul and body. So he who speaks in tongues builds up his spirit, soul and body.

Does this include building up your immune system? Yes, it does! Brain specialists at Oral Roberts University’s hospital found out through research and testing that when a person prays in tongues, his brain releases two chemicals that are directed to his immune system, giving it a 35 to 40 per cent boost. Interestingly, these secretions are triggered by a part of our brain that has no other apparent activity and which is activated only when we pray in tongues.

Now, your immune system is your first line of defense against diseases. During the SARS outbreak in Singapore in 2003, not everyone who had the disease died. Only those whose immune systems were weak succumbed to the disease and died. Therefore, many people resorted to vitamins and herbs to boost their immune systems.

A 74-year-old church member decided to build up his immune system against more heart problems. Two of his arteries were 70 per cent blocked and five smaller vessels were 80 per cent blocked. So during a church service, when I asked those who wanted to be healed of heart problems to stand up, he stood up, placed his hand over his heart and prayed in tongues.

He shared that at that moment, he believed that the Holy Spirit touched him and he became a different person. When he went for his medical check-up, his surgeon found that all the blockages in his blood vessels were gone! Even a scheduled heart-related operation was cancelled as there was no longer any necessity for it. Indeed, he was a different person. He literally had a change of heart, a new heart from God!

Beloved, you may not have a heart condition, but you can still pray in tongues and pray up your immune system!

Impossibilities

There is a gal in a wheelchair at our church and as you can imagine, lots of people want to pray for her on a regular basis and do so even on their own , because of course our church is into healing the sick! So the other day we heard a report that she was able to stretch her legs out in front of her which previously had not happened...the whole place went crazy praising God and laughing..we were so happy that God would answer. We are hearing numerous accounts of people going to the healing rooms on Saturday morn to be healed and while they are waiting for prayer, they are healed! One lady came to Redding to get prayer for cancer, and when she walked through the doors of the healing rooms, she was instantly healed!  We have heard of several people who got healed of deaf ears at the same time, including someone who simply WALKED BY the healing rooms while prayer was going on and got healed of deafness! Lots of financial miracles coming through for students..one gal actually had a job made for at a place where she applied because they liked her so much! Ok, more on this later...praise the Lord for every  good thing. God is alive and well and a very good God with goodness and love toward people all over the earth. I am thankful!

*HIM!*

Oh the might and beauty and wonder of our God! oh the hidden riches of knowing Him only to be searched out by the hungry and desperate soul! Oh the thousands of ways He comes to woo you into intmacy with Him! Oh the depths of love which are too deep and wide to begin to know on this side of eternity! I am in awe and wonder of my God and His love for me. Called out of darkness truly and into His light, truly. Called out of obscurity and little esteem, into security and as one highly valued. He is too wonderful for words. Why did He choose us? for companionship? for love? its too good a story to be true in our mortal thinking. Why would He suffer such torment, such hell for just us? Its incomprehensible! I am in love with Him! Jesus, King of Kings.
He is coming back soon to bring us home for glory. Its time to get right with Him, its time to gather in as many outcasts and broken as we can find on the highways and biways, so many dont know about the LOVE, so many don't know about the forgiveness and the wiping clean of the slate forever, so many dont know about the beauty for ashes, the adoption as sons and daughters, so many don't know about becoming someone with purpose and destiny and value when they were nothing before knowing Him. So many don't know He is the only way....Tell it this Christmas, shout from the mountain tops, shout from the street corners. God has sent His Only Son to rescue me and you. Such good news. Following Him sold out is the only way to great joy and happiness..You will not be dissappointed if you dare to give Him your life. You will find such treasure on the other side...(in this life) ...you will be Loved beyond your wildest imagination...He is calling your name right now. Merry Christmas!

Thy Kingdom Come.....

There is a Kingdom over which Jesus is King.
In this Kingdom, there is no sickness, disease, sorrow, pain, poverty, broken relationships.
He came and preached  that now the Kingdom is at hand, then He died, taking on the curse for the whole world. Now there is a bridge back to the Father's love and heart for all mankind. Now there is flock of "sheep" (us who belong to HIM) who carry the Kingdom in our hearts. (Christ in us, the Hope of glory!) It is His presence and reality of the curse being removed that comes with His presence. We carry His kingdom to every situation where darkness has had its way, because He told us to. Preach the Kingdom! Its here. Its invisible, so with new eyes to see this invisible realm, we look. We look with the eyes of faith, we see what our Father wants to do and we bring the Kingdom of God or His presence into every dark place, revealing His will and finished work. It is finished. He took the curse. We can walk free, the chains of poverty, hopelessness, sickness and sorrow can break off now. The King is here. We are here too, to preach it, to let His kingdom come into every dark hopeless, disease stricken and poor corner with the Light, riches, healing and deliverance! Let Him come and break off your chains. He is the key! HE is so good!

Worship the King

We are dancing, dancing
swirling through heaven's fields
millions of kisses meeting
Singing songs of love now sealed
I am wanted, He's come to stay
ravished, His love so gentle
Dancing, laughing heaven's play.
Joy unspeakable, beneath the mantle
King of Kings, loving my soul
Make me hungry so You are all I know....

Missions Here I come!

Missions! a big part of this school year. We are all assigned to a mission this school year. La Paz, Mexico is my mission assignment. I will be going in March 30th to April 6th with Pastor Crystal S., and we will be coming along side our church partners to see revival fires come to Mexico. We will be ministering in schools, churches and in outreach with children's ministries, preaching, seeing people getting saved, healed and delivered. We may even raise the dead! We will be going into poverty areas to bring the Kingdom of God and hope. YES!!! This is what walking in God is all about! This is why I am going to school, to do the gospel, to live the life of a Kingdom daughter and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring life to those who don't know yet, that a loving God has sent His Son to bridge the gap, to rid sinners of the curse, and  bring people back into the arms of their Abba Father! what a price He paid for such a treasure. Yes, we are going to collect treasure for our Father: People! If you want to be part of what I am going to do in La Paz, I invite you to pray about how you can help. Yes, I need funds for this trip to happen. The total cost is about 1100$. ($1000 for the trip itself and $100 for extra expenses, like food for the days we are flying) Thank you for your love and support. I pray 100-fold blessing back into your storehouse for all you give! Love you. Barb

the New President

I am only representing my own opinion in this blog entry tonight....For those of you who decided to vote for McCain due to pro life issues or other issues, this letter is being written. The Body of Christ has been rallying in prayer for months for God to put His choice in office. We have fasted, prayed, sought the Lord, and cried out to God for our country. In 1Jn. 5:14 it says if we ask anything according to His will, we know He hears, and if we know He hears, then we know we have the petitions we have asked of Him. We have asked something according to His will. God has only good things in store for this country because it is full of people who love Him. He has a future for our country filled with hope and peace. Faith calls all those prayers answered. We can be assured that God has put the man in office that He has chosen because He says we can be assured when we ask according to His will. Of course it is His will to put His man in office and to give good  to our country. He has good in mind and Obama is the man for the job. It no longer matters what we have heard or thought, what matters is that we honor the man He has put into office and bless him. That means we keep all the gossip, slander and evil speaking about him out of our mouths and ears. It means we make a resolve to honor our President no matter what opinions we have heard or formed. This is a time to stand up and show our world what the gospel of Jesus looks like lived out in a child of God who didn't get their man into office.  The Word of God asks us to honor our President, uphold him, love him, pray for him, respect him, so that it will go well with us and we will have peace. (my paraphrase) So, I am writing you to encourage you to live what you believe and support what God is doing though you many not understand. Does it mean we back down on the issues dear to our heart like, the redefinition of marriage or abortion? No, we go to the throne in prayer and trust that our God is working His will out in our country's leaders. He is a good God and is in a good mood. And no, America does not deserve judgement. Judgement fell on the body of Jesus 2,000 years agoso that man, when fallen in sin, could run into Jesus' arms and be adopted back into the family of God. So stop thinking America deserves punishment and start expecting goodness, favor and blessing on our country. He loves us and that has never changed. It is the goodness of God that leads man to repentance. Don't be like Jonah in the Bible, but be encouraged because we are about to see the mightiest revival the world has ever seen and it starts with each one of us having revival in our hearts. I pray tonight Blessing abundant on Obama and his new administration as well as his family and pray protection over them as well as the wisdom and favor of God. In Jesus'Name, amen!

VOTE according to your conscience!

This week at Bethel, we saw a quick video clip that was really good from catholicvote.com. If you get a chance, go on that site and check it out. It is powerful and it brings to light the issue that is at stake this election. There is also a Supreme Court issue; 4 Justices are  retiring in the next 4-8 yrs and with the new President choosing their replacements,  when we vote, we are determining  decisions made for our country for the next 40 yrs because younger and younger justices are being chosen for this high position. It is so crucial that we pray and seek God in this election and are not swayed by  points of view which do not consider the opinion of our God. For more on this, check out this site ...the article at the bottom of the page by Dutch Sheets is worth reading and praying about. God Bless you and may His face shine upon you and give you peace, this week as you pray and seek the face of God over our country and our future.

God is good all the time!

Ok, if I got some readers hooked....oops! My bad! Have been swamped so blogging went down for a bit...I am back though and want so much to share what I am learning with you. There is an imparting going on here at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, with hands laid on, and words preached under the power of the Holy Spirit. Men and women have gone before me, laid down their lives  for the Lord and as a result, the power of God evident in this place is present every day. I am being changed because of it. I am starting to see myself as God sees me...more loved than anything else. I cannot lose that unfailing love. It is worth everything to me and the more I get, the more I want. Its like addiction only better. Then there is the world, who like me, if they came into contact with the power of the Glorious God of the Universe, present within a believer, would start to receive healing in their bodies and souls. Yes, its a transforming power, this anointing of God. Anointing for those of you who are new  to this term, might be defined as the power of God for the purpose of healing or deliverance. Luke 4:18 has Jesus talking about why God anointed Him....all for the good of men and women, because He is a good God. So yes, I am on the receiving end of this glorious imparting of His Spirit and it is making me hungry to carry it to others. Here is my prayer for you: The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace! Amen! More to come soon. God Bless!!!!!

Sing your way out of trouble.....

Not kidding on this one. King Jehosaphat did it in 2 Chron. 20...check it out. As they sang, all their deadly enemies were defeated before they got out there to fight them. They sang praises first..."Praise the Lord for His Mercy endures forever" YES! Its because of His Love, forgiveness and goodness that all the enemies of Jehosaphat were defeated, not because the King was all that! no way! Praise God, its not because I am doing anything or ever did anything right, that my enemies are defeated, its because  of HIM and how GOOD HE is and MERCIFUL He is...its because He loves me. I love it, not having to earn the answer, not having to do it all right, not having to be perfect, not having to have everyone's opinion in favor of me..but just because I am His daughter. It is enough. SO like the tribe of Judah that day in Israel, when all of their deadly enemies were coming to destroy them, I am going to sing my way out of trouble and the battle will be the Lord's and I will stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!

If you feel inspired to support me in a financial way the following is available....

Musings over coffee

Good morning to all my readers! grab your coffee and sit back, want to tell you so much but I will try to summarize. Been in the School of Supernatural Ministry now for 3 weeks. Everyone around the church told me that we all will  change so much during the first year. I didn't really understand. Then we started school. Pastor Bill and those who pastor with him carry around with them an attitude of fatherly love. You feel it when they preach, you feel it when you are in the room with them, you experience it when you are at school. They foster the presence of the Holy Spirit and His working, they make Him welcome in every gathering and with every word they share. He comes, (the Holy Spirit) and we are constantly impacted by His power and annointing and the unconditional love I am personally experiencing is off my map! Never felt this from so many people I hardly know! In addition, dreams, encounters with God in church or when we come together in small groups, have all increased dramatically. Is it because I sold all to come and receive and seek Him? I don't really know but the treasure in the center of the field is worth everything in life to pursue!!! If I have that treasure in my earthen vessel and somehow don't learn to  go out with power and invade the kingdom of darkness and rescue captives for the Lord, it is a waste of my life ( as I see it) . This is what I am learning...first to remember and relearn who I am in Christ, second to go out to a hurting world and gather the Lord's inheritance. For this, HE died, for people. So many don't know. So many have bad opinions  about Him. But He loves this world and is good all the time. His love in this place is going straight into my depths and causing me to wonder at Him and to thank Him and joy unspeakable and full of glory is mine many days....Come and taste and see that the Lord is good! Thank you all for listening. If you want to partake even a little, the podcast from Bethel church on Sundays is free...download itunes to your computer, then go the store and subscribe for free, to Bethel church sermons. Its truly a blessing from heaven to be here!!!!!

What I have learned..

Remember the song line from Sound of Music, "I must have done something good in my childhood..."? The star was trying to figure out why something good so good could be happening in her life because she knew in her heart she did not deserve it...Well, I came to Bethel Church in obedience and not really wanting to leave my beloved Alaska, but what I immediately started  to receive was exceedingly abundantly above all I asked or thought...God has visited and spoken to me so personally since my arrival. Even during my stay, the first weeks with Laura and Lucas, (pictured above)...I had dreams every other night or so from the Lord, revealing things to me, and coming to me with His love...it was so incredible. I know I didn't do something good in my childhood, in fact I was quite aware of how bad I was! but God knew what to do about that...need I say more? He is the one who did something good! He sent His Son and all the blessings, favor and goodness coming our way are because and only because He is good (all the time)!
A side note about Laura and Lucas....Laura knew me when she was a teen in Fairbanks, and found me on myspace in January right about the time I was seeking confirmation for my Redding relocation...and of course she was here in Redding, going to church at Bethel. We wrote and became friends all Spring and she, along with her precious husband Lucas offered me a place to stay for a bit, when I arrived. They were wonderful to me and helped me in a 1000 small ways and now they are like my family here in Redding along with Trenton, Sky, Trinity and Trusty...He puts the solitary in families!

Back to the journey......

So back to our trip down the ALCAN (above are pix of a few animal encounters right on the road). Both Diane and I felt impressed at the border to take communion and we prayed over Canada and the USA relations to Canada. We so felt the Holy Spirit witness to this prayer... As we drove into our neighbor country, prayer and divine encounters occurred including one young man, having given up on God due to a recent tragedy in his life, who began to talk with us at Liard Hot Springs. We ended up sharing about the love of God to him and he said he felt greatly encouraged and it turned out had been around a praying grandfather all his life! We found ourselves praying revival and awakening over Canada and then took communion on the way across the border into Washington state. It touched our hearts so much and we couldn't help but wonder what God has in store for this continent!

Good Morning Holy Spirit!

So I read this book years ago, but it is striking me anew as I read it as an assignment for school. I am practicing considering His presence and His friendship everywhere I go, and it is awesome. He is so good and we forget about Him, that it is He who will not leave us and comforts us and loves on us when we need it. If you haven't read this recently, pick it up and check it out. Its hard to put down and He is hard to ignore once you remember again that He longs to be a personal God with us and its a wonderful thing!

Friends advice : The DONATE button.....

Thanks to a friend of mine brainstorming recently, I am doing this blog in part because so many friends ask how I am doing and it is difficult to update everyone I love since my schedule has become so busy. This is in place of a support letter and also gives viewers an option of supporting me financially if they feel so inclined. Any and all gifts will be greatly appreciated and by no means do you have to feel any pressure to do anything in that regard! "Beloved I pray that you may prosper and be in health just as your soul prospers" 3John 2. That is my prayer for all you readers!

Moving

Yup, Spring of '08 consisted of goodbyes, packing, and exchanges of love between friends .... the adventure ahead of me undefined, but God's plan, of that much I was sure. I got an interview for school entry in March that left me feeling I was not accepted...BUT. I knew God told me to go to Redding and go to school, so I felt I should proceed with the plan. Leaving Sheila, my daughter and Jason and their little Mia and all of those close to me was difficult, I will not lie! But there is something about receiving a mandate from God that gives you abilities far beyond your strength. Finally when I thought I was doing the ALCAN alone, my friend,Diane, called and offered to do the hiway trip with me! God is good! May 1, was our day of departure and it snowed right up to the day I left!

JOY Unspeakable...a poem

What did I feel once I made this drastic life changing decision to say yes to this dream and my God????

Joy Unspeakable

Joy unspeakable
Overshadowing like the noonday sun
Warm rays of His Glory
Like hot oil pouring down
Peace, contentment
Bubbling up, tickling my heart
Laughter in the Love of my Father God.

Through the snowy winter in my cozy house at LIWA, as you may have guessed by now, God continued to make Himself clear to me. How do I know I hear His voice? well, I ask Him to confirm what I think I am hearing from Him in His Word. The Bible says in the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses let everything be established...So I ask for Him to show me in the Word...but also I continue to submit to obey when HE does speak to me and I have a long time habit of reading the Bible daily and talking to Him and relating to Him personally as my Father while I am studying it and then of course, worshipping Him is also part of my daily time with Him. He is personal, a Father, a Friend, Comforter, Guide, Savior, and many more things and He has a perfect plan for my life..its better than anything I can come up with! for sure!!!! I am His sheep and He promises in the book of John, that His sheep hear His voice and another voice they will not follow...so I have His assurance, I will hear Him and He will not lead me astray. So by Christmas of 2007, Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, California was planted firmly in my searching and seeking heart...He was telling me this was the next move for me. I told God YES! I had 4 months to be out of my house at Camp Liwa in Fairbanks so I prepared for the big move! wow. I felt thrilled, sad and scared and excited all in one! hard to imagine a place you have never lived in and only visited once stopping for gas ...(above right pix is of the prayer house at Bethel Church...24hrs prayer ..open to the public ...a wonderful place to listen for His voice and tell Him you love Him! )

41 years later.......

The dream continued.....I was busy quilting for my coming grandchildren this past winter living in Alaska. My friend Teresa, and I were listening to a conference we had ordered on ministering to children. It was really good, but it made me hungry for more...for training, for mentoring by those more experienced in the field, and to see God move among children in power. Listening to tapes was just not going to do it for me anymore and there was the dream....serving God full time, writing, preaching the Word (anyone who knows me will tell you I do it when I get excited, preaching that is). Seeing fruit and changed lives in people you minister to...I needed more. SO that got me praying and something came back to me that I heard while I was driving 2 years before: "I am sending you to Redding". I heard it clearly and I argued back with God..it's too hot there, I don't want to leave Alaska, etc. You know the routine...argue all you want, He will wait. I dismissed it. Now here I am in fall of 2007 and its coming back to me. So I told God I will do whatever you want! (ok that is a scary prayer)....

The Dream

It came at age 12 after reading "Christy" ...but let this poem paint the picture....

The call it came softly when youth was still fresh,
Through the years it  grew stronger;
Zeal sought to posess.
Then death to the dream fought its way in,
Till hopelessness imprisoned and the dream caved in.
The Word, it was testing in tears and in pain,
The fruit undetected there seemd no gain.
One last cry for deliverance uttered,
A word came softly, the prisoner unfettered.
Freedom came but with a cost
The dream, the self, all seemed lost....
Now secure in Dream Giver's Hand,
Works of striving forever banned.
Days in the cave coming to close,
Dreams to resurrect as the Dream Giver rose.
Hope once lost comes to substance now
Faith is the victor; to the Dream Giver I bow.
